| Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is an OEM?
An OEM (Original Equipment
Manufacturer) is a company that builds a product
that it sells under its own company name and brand. An OEM, such
as HP or Epson,
will manufacture the product and assign a unique part number to
that product.
We provide the OEM part number to assist you in finding a
compatible cartridge.
What
is a compatible cartridge?
There are two types of
compatible cartridges: the first type is
"compatible"
with most Copiers, Fax Machines, Ink Jets, and Printer Ribbons and
is brand new.
The only difference - it is manufactured by a different company.
The second type
of compatible cartridge is remanufactured from recycled plastic
and parts.
What
is a remanufactured cartridge?
A remanufactured cartridge
is a cartridge that has been recycled to OEM
specifications. The process includes inspecting the old cartridge,
replacing
all worn parts, and print testing the cartridge for quality.
I
have tried compatible cartridges before, but I was not satisfied
with
the quality. How do I know yours will be different?
Compatible cartridge technology has now reached the level of the
original
manufactures. The days of drill and fill are over. Printer
Resources "MSE Brand"

Why
should I choose an MSE product?
QUALITY .. Through careful
research, Printer Resources has partnered with MSE,
a compatible toner cartridge manufacturer based out of California.
Their
products consistently produce darker prints and sharper graphics.
We now
offer our customers the highest quality cartridges at lower
prices.
VALUE .. Our compatible
cartridges perform as well as an original manufactured
cartridge, so if you don’t mind paying 20 – 40% less for
comparable quality,
make your next purchase a MSE Brand product from Printer
Resources, Bend, OR.
Do
compatible or remanufactured cartridges last as long as OEM?
All of our compatible or
remanufactured cartridges are manufactured according
to OEM specification, and will print the same or greater page
yield as their
OEM counterpart.
Will
the copies be as dark and crisp looking?
Printer Resources "MSE Brand" toner cartridges are built
using only the highest
quality toner to ensure that the print quality will match or
exceed the
quality of a new cartridge direct from the manufacturer.
Will
a remanufactured cartridge void my machine's warranty?
No! Your manufacturer
cannot void your machine's warranty for using
cartridges other than theirs. However, it may void your contract
if you
have a binding agreement to use their supplies.
How
does MSE ensure quality?
All MSE cartridges are
individually tested during manufacturing and must pass
through a Triple Quality Control inspection before they get
shipped to you.
Our stringent quality standards include testing each component
prior
to manufacturing, during production, and even after our products
are
on the shelf. The result is a high performance product that has
our
Printer Resources Total Satisfaction Warranty.
What
sort of impact does the inkjet and toner industry have on the
environment?
Each year, millions of
cubic feet of non-biodegradable Laser & Inkjet
cartridges
are thrown into our nation's landfills. In 25 years, the total
amount of discarded
cartridges could fill more than half the Grand Canyon. Now MSE has
made it
free and easy for you to mail ALL toner and inkjet empty
cartridges, regardless
of their origins to their recycling center.
Can
I recycle my empty cartridge?
Yes! And we encourage it!
PRR provides a MSE postage paid envelope with all
inkjet cartridges and a free shipping label for all toner
cartridges. Just place
your empty cartridge in its original box and using the prepaid
shipping label,
drop the envelope in the mail. Thank you for recycling! Printer
Resources also
offers a $.50 discount for every INKJET cartridge brought into
their
Bend store for recycling.
Are
there other ways to save printing cost?
You can save money by
printing more efficiently by using preview before printing.
Then, with large documents, starting with a test page to be sure
margins, spacing,
text and graphics appear correct. Correct those settings before
starting
the print job. If you need multiple copies, consider printing one
and then
photocopy the rest. Check
if your computer offers choices in print quality.
By selecting the "economy" or draft mode under
print/properties you obtain
lighter printouts that print faster using less ink. Use this
setting for internal documents
or first drafts. Switch the setting back to "normal" or
"best" quality for final versions
and documents intended for clients.
How
can I avoid paper jams?
USE
QUALITY PAPER.. The first, assumption people make
is that paper jams are
the result of mechanical malfunction. In fact, a majority of jams
are caused
by using paper that’s either of poor quality or that is
inappropriate for the machine.
High-quality paper has
some grain to it (so it’s not slick to the touch). This
grain enables the rollers on a printer or copier to grab the paper
properly.
In most cases the heaver the paper weight, the more grain it has.
The
recommended minimum paper weight is 20lbs and 24lbs for a laser
printer.
CHECK
PAPER CONDITION.. Even if you’re using
high-quality paper it can still
cause paper jams if it’s wrinkled, warped or curled – usually
by water or humidity.
If the paper in the tray is damages, replace it.
Individual pieces of
paper, especially from a just-opened package, can
also stick together and cause jams. To prevent this from
happening, hold
your stack of paper and fan through it – as if glancing though a
book or
magazine, before inserting it in the input tray.
If
all else fails..
